Face Shapes-How to Measure and Determine Your Face Shape
Teach you how to measure and determine your face shape, and even more importantly how to choose the right hair style to fit your face shape.There are six different face shapes: Oval face shape, Heart Shaped face shape, Pear Shaped face shape, Square face shape, Round face shape, and Long face shape.
There are lots of suggestions on how to figure out your shape. These include everything from outlining your face shape on a mirror with lipstick to draping it with a towel and asking others to help you guess the shape. But, there is actually a scientific way to determine your face shape once and for all.

To find out the shape of your face, measure it with a tape measure or ruler. You will take the following measurements.
1. Measure your face across the top of your cheekbones. Write down the measurement on a piece of paper.
2. Measure across your jaw line from the widest point to the widest point. Write down the measurement.
3. Measure across your forehead at the widest point. Generally the widest point will be somewhere about halfway between your eyebrows and your hairline. Write down the measurement.
4. Measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chin.
- Oval Face Shape

Length is equal to one and a half times width, with forehead and jaw the same width.Oval faces are characterized by being slightly wider at the cheekbones than the forehead or jaw-line. The oval face appears slightly wider at the cheek-line and tapers slightly to the chin. The oval face is generally considered the ideal, and an oval face is flattered by virtually every type of style.
- Round Face Shape

Length is approximately equal to width.This shape is what it says, a face without sharp angles and tending to be wider at the cheeks and having softer “corners” along the jaw-line and forehead. The goal with a round face is to add height, making the face appear longer. Generally, layered styles with maximum lift on top and minimum volume on the side are a goodchoice to lengthen the rounder face.
- Oblong Face Shape-

- Heart Face Shape

Narrow at jaw line, wide at cheekbones/and or forehead.Wide at the forehead and cheekbones, narrow at the jawline.
- Square Face Shape

Strong and broad forehead with angular jaw.A Square face is very common. It will be equally wide at the forehead, cheeks, and jaw line.
- Diamond Face Shape-

Diamond Face Shape
Forehead and jawline are narrow with wide and high cheekbones.Widest at cheekbones, narrow forehead and jaw line of approximately equal widths.
